Some of the industries we serve include retail, industrial parks, restaurants, government facilities, healthcare and hospitals and shopping centers.

Penn Medicine • Valley Forge

Your project is # 1! Kevin West and Chuck Bradley formed Independence Fire Sprinkler Company after realizing that the “larger, impersonal” fire protection companies in the Philadelphia market forgot what matters most – YOU!

As owner operators who are always available, our approach is to be hands-on with your project meeting the demands of the schedule, budget and the attention to quality that your project demands. All projects are managed by Kevin and Chuck with our Project Manager/Field Supervisor Mike Schatzman leading the field installation.

Our first project was unexpected, but we were given a chance, and we delivered. Penn Medicine’s project included all aspects of fire protection, including:

• Over 900 wet sprinklers heads throughout the building

• All Factory Mutual Global's requirements and approvals

• Dry sprinkler system protecting the front drive up canopy

• Dry standpipe system in the parking garage

• Special hazard pre-action system complete with electrical control wiring

• Protection for the multi-million dollar MRI unit and linear accelerator

• We continue to serve as their current service provider

We’ve worked on many projects for over three years, and after 10 million in revenue, and hundreds of satisfied customers, we continue to deliver the high quality and professionalism on your project that you demand and deserve.

Lockheed Martin

In addition, Independence Fire continues to serve Lockheed Martin, completing projects to sensitive areas without hindrance to their working practices.  For example, we handled the retrofit of sprinklers in existing, occupied areas without disruption to their operations.

St. Joe’s Learning Commons

The St. Joe’s Learning Commons is a state-of-the-art multimedia center encompassing a new, out-of-the-ground, three-story, 35,000 square foot building with a three-story atrium connecting it to the existing Drexel Library.

The first floor is comprised of a coffee bar, computers, and lounge areas allowing guests to socialize. The second floor links the Learning Commons to the Drexel Library through bridges spanning through the 2,500 square foot Atrium. To accommodate the new Learning Commons, the Drexel Library underwent renovations of 6,000 square feet.

Independence Fire had to undertake project-specific challenges with the renovations at St. Joe’s. Due to time constraints, we made sure we kept to a tight construction timeline, as well as meeting strict architectural guidelines to ensure that the aesthetics of the completed project were in step with the rest of the Philadelphia campus.  This involved close coordination with other trades on the project.

GE Energy Services

Independence Fire Sprinkler Company was called to GE Services to perform a routine annual certification. During the inspection, it was determined by our crews that the existing fire pump and infrastructure was abandoned and removed from service in the 1980’s.  Consequently, GE was without proper fire protection, due to the demands of their operation.

This condition was missed by their former fire protection service company, and also during the yearly inspections by their insurance company.

Independence Fire Sprinkler recommended a design build solution to rectify the situation.   Overseeing approximately six different subcontractors, including the site contractor, general contractor and electrician, we were able to build this project, test and certify to meet the approvals of the City of Philadelphia L&I, in just over three weeks.
